Karthik Calling Karthik is a psychological thriller starrting Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone. Karthik is an Accountant who lacks self confidence and often troubled by the people around him. Like the house owner trobling him for paying money for lift. His Boss troubles him at his work.
Karthik secretly loves his colleague Shaloni. But Shaloni will be having an affair with another co-worker Ashish in the same company who would have married already and still having a secrete affair with Shaloni.

Karthik visits his psychological doctor regularly to get some advices for a troubling childhood incidence. Wherein he will accidently kill his brother.

Mysteriously Karthik starts getting telephone calls from Karthik who tells him that he knows everything about him and helps in to gain confidence. From then on Karthik gets calls regularly at 5.00 AM and boosts his confidence. Now the confident Karthik does well in his job. Gets promoted doing well in his job as well as by blackmailing his boss. Karthik makes Ashish to tell the truth about himself to Shaloni about him being married and gains Shaloni's love as well. Then Karthik calling over phone insists Karthik not tell anybody about the calls he is getting. As people would think that he is psychologically ill.

When Karthik and Shaloni both fell in deep love, Shaloni asks Karthik to not hide anything from him. Karthik eventually tell Shaloni about the calls he is getting. Shaloni doesn't believe this and asks him to take a psychiatrist's advice. But Karthik refuses but eventually agrees to take psychiatrist's advice.

But Karthik calling over phone gets angry for telling about the calls he is getting over phone to Shaloni and warns him to take revenge. Next day Karthik loses his job for blackmailing the boss and informing his client about a lawsuit in the property they are dealing with which results in filing a lawsuit against his own company. He even looses Shaloni by calling her as a bitch and prosititue for her past relationship. He loses his entire savings over night.

Worried Karthik tries to escape from Karthik who calls over phone and moves to a place which is unknown to himself. Gets a job there and avoids using the phone. But his Boss insists him to get a phone. Once he buys a phone he starts getting the calls again from Karthik and now Karthik tells him that he will finish him. So, Karthik sends a mail to Shaloni and decides to commit a suiside.

For questions like, what will happen to Karthik. Will Shaloni rescue him from the troubling phone calls? Who is actually calling Karthik? Watch the movie to get the answer.

Overall it is a good movie to watch. Climax could have been better.

Movie Review : LSD (Love Sex aur Dhokha) - Hindi

LSD is an experimental movie with three different sub plots relating to each other.

LSD is shot in a manner, most of the MMS videos are shot using Mobile, unprofessional videographer shooting a video and the way the CCTV camera footages are viewed.
Film shot as a recording using MMS Videos, unprofessional videographer shooting a video and CCTV camera footages. Story depicts reality so very few audiences may be interested.

It is definitely not for the people who are expecting some entertainment out of the movie. Most audience would feel this movie to a boring and a movie which wastes time and definitely not a value for money.

This is not a cup of tea for all.

Movie Review : Raajneeti - Hindi

Loosely based on the story of Mahabharatha, Raajneeti is a story about a family in Politics. A senior member of a nationalized party gets paralyzed during a party campaign. He decides his brother to be his successor rather than in own son. This angers his son Veerendra Pratap. Sooraj Kumar (illicit son born to Bharti Rai, who is also mother of Samar Pratap and Prithvi Pratap), a local dalit leader will be supported and given a good position in the party by Veerendra Pratap. Both will kill his uncle Chandra. Now, Samar Pratap and Prithvi Pratap joins the party and Prithvi Pratap will be nominated as a chief minister candidate.

This even angers Veerendra Pratap and he plots a sexual harassment and physical abuse case against Prithvi Pratap with the help of Sub inspect of police and a lady politician who will be trying to get into politics by contesting in a constituency. Veerendra Pratap and Samar Pratap play game so that they with draw the case and he would be released from the jail. This would lead into more bloody battle between two of them and Veerendra Pratap and Samar Pratap will be thrown out of the party. They eventually form their own party and stands for the election with the help of Brij Gopal who will be a mastemind politician. Prithvi Pratap and Sarah Thompson (Samar's wife) will be killed in a car bomb blast. Indu Pratap (ex-girlfriend of Samar Pratap and wife of Prithvi pratap) finally stands for the election. Samar pratap and Brij Gopal plots a murder plan for Veerendra Pratap and eventually he will be killed. Sooraj Kumar in an attempt to save his friend, will be killed by Samar pratap.

As a storyline goes you can just compare the character mapping with the characters in Mahabharatha.

Overall it’s an average movie to watch. Raajneeti is just a rip of Mahabharatha story transforming it to political story. So, the story is more predictable and its climax is very predictable.

Movie Review : Munich - English

Munich is a story of Israeli retaliation against the terrorists involved in 1972 Munich massacre which is also known as Black September.
Movie begins with the Palestine terrorists killing Israeli sports team in Munich Olympics in 1972. This leads to humiliation for Israeli's and Palestinians will succeed in getting the attention of the international community. So, Israeli prime minster decides to take revenge by killing the terrorist who had plot the massacre. So, she forms a team and Avner Kaufman will be a leader for this team and names the operation as "Operations Wrath of God"

This team then buys the information about the Palestinian terrorist from mysterious French underworld team and kills many of the masterminds behind Munich massacre. The movie takes a serious turn when Avner Kaufman's team members gets killed one after the other. Avner Kaufman comes to know from his secrete informers who sells information about terrorists that they too are now the targeted for killing.
After killing most of the terrorists as initially targeted Avner Kaufman and his remaining team gets more stressed out with this operation. They eventually calls of this operation.

The movie may not exactly expose the Munich massacre and the events after it. But it’s a very good movie to watch.
Surely you are going to enjoy the movie and you will appreciate the bravery of Israeli's.

Movie Review : Secretary - English

Lee Holloway, after completing her graduation joins for a job as a secretary in Grey's office. Grey is an advocate hires Lee despite her unprofessional appearance and weak socializing skills. Grey gets irritated initially with typos made by Lee but soon he will be sexually attracted towards Lee. Grey, distress Lee for her behavior and dressing. But Grey will do everything to please her boss. Lee changes her behaviors and dressing style, she even stops her self-harming behavior when Grey as her to stop. Once Grey hits Lee's buttocks for the typo mistakes she has done while typing. But Lee enjoys getting hit from her boss. So, she purposefully makes more typos to get hit from her boss on her buttocks as Lee will be deeply in love with Grey. Grey feels ashamed for his sexual habits with Lee and she fires Lee from her job. Lee gets herself ready for marriage with her school friend Peter. But leaves Peter just before wedlock and asks Grey to marry her. Grey asks her to sit on chair in his office and refuses to marry her and leaves his office. Abide to Gray's words, Lee doesn't move from the chair until finally Grey calm downs and agrees to marry her.

Overall secretary is a good movie to watch. But it is certainly not for all audiences.

Movie Review : Kites - Hindi

Most forgettable movie of the recent times is undoubtedly Hrithik Roshan starer movie Kites. Made out of a terrible storyline Kites makes you feel itchy on your head while watching!

J (Hrithik Roshan) is a dance teacher in Las Vegas. His student Gina daughter of casino owner in Las Vegas falls in love with J. J agrees to marry her because of the money he would be inheritting from his father in law. J would parallely dupe as a husband for the immegrats for the money had feel in love with a Mexican Natasha. Natasha now would be marring to Gina's brother Tony, who is a natorious homocidal criminal.

Just a day before Nathash and Tony's wedding day, J takes her away. Tony starts chasing them.
Nathasha sacrifices her life for saving J. J kills Tony before ending his life where Nathasha killed herself while escaping from Tony.

Kites is a crapy movie to watch. It may interest you, if you are fond of action movies.

Movie Review : Seven Pounds - English

Will smith starring Seven pounds is a beautiful emotional love story. Movie starts with Ben Thomas calls 911 for help. He tells 911 services that he is about to commit suicide.

Ben smith is a graduate from MIT will be working for a US internal revenue service’s as a tax officer. He has lost his loving wife in an accident. So, he will not be treating himself for years.

Ben finds that, Emily's record shows that, there is a mismatch in her transactions than what she claims. He visits Emily's home to find himself that is she is hospitalized. He then meets her in hospital and tells her that she has to pay a ransom amount. She asks for some time, since she was just discharged from hospital. He later visits again to her home to talk about the tax collections and both become friends. Ben offers 6 months time to pay without any penalty but soon he realizes that she living her last few weeks of her life as her heart is very weak and it can't pump enough blood to brain and other parts of the body.

It’s a very nice movie to watch.

Movie Review : Stalog 17 - English

Stalog 17 is a about a prisoners of war captured by Germans. Its a nice mixture of drama, comedy. Stalag 17 is a prison camp for Russians, Americans, Poles and Czechs.

Movie starts with the narration of the story by Cookie. Two American soldiers will try to escape from the camp. Sefton (Hero of the story) who always tries to keep himself in a comfortable position bets with other camp members that those two American soldiers will not successfully escape out of the forest and they will be caught. The two American soldiers will be caught and they will be shot down. This escape was planned by security of the camp. Security is another POW in that camp of 630 is head of the camp.

Soon the the camp members realize that there is one among them who is tipping the information about whatever happens in the camp to German guards. Everyone will doubt about Sefton. Sefton is a rude man who tries to keep himself in a most comfortable position by betting, allowing camp members to view Russian women by his telescope, by arranging a mouse race for Cigarettes. By bribing German guards he will be getting access to even go outside of the camp and exchange things with others. He will be maintaining a store by himself for this and Cookie will be helping him for maintaining the store.

Because of his rude behavior everyone in the camp will believe that he is tipping the information to Germans. Another two more Americans will join the camp. One of them will be a lieutenant Denbar and Sergeant Bagradian. Even after getting caught lieutenant Denbar will be managed to blow of the train by placing a time bomb with his matches and cigarettes. This will cause lots transportation hurdle for German army. Lieutenant will reveal this in the camp. Even this information will be tipped Germans and Lieutenant will be taken to custody as sabotage. And next day two SS officers will be coming to camp to take Lieutenant and interrogate. So, camp members will be very anxious and they will doubt that Sefton is the one who has been tipping the information and they even beat Safton that night. Camp members warn him that they will cut his throat if he interferes in any of their activities or if they come to know that he is tipping the information.

Safton decides to find himself about the fellow who is tipping all the information to Germans acting as a agent for Germans. Camp members finally decide to escape Lieutenant from the camp next day.

Watch the movie to know, who is actually tipping the information, how Safton finds that German agent among themselves. What will happen to Lieutenant Denber. Will he successfully escape from the camp?

Overall it’s a very nice movie to watch.

Movie Review : It’s a Wonderful life - English

George Bailey is an owner of Bank, who dreams to travel around the world see the world. On a Christmas evening he is in trouble and he is planning to commit suicide. But, his wife and children pray to god to get him out of his trouble. As a result Joseph, the head of the angels calls a second degree angel to save George. If the second degree angel Clarance succeeds saving George by stopping him to commit suicide he would be promoted to first degree angel position and the wings. So, the angels tell the story of George Bailey.

George Bailey saves his brother Harry from drowning in ice water while playing when he was at the age of nine. Although Harry survives, he will lose hearing for one of his ear. George also saves his boss accidentally poisoning child medicines as a result he will be saving many children from poisoning and his boss from sentence to imprisonment. George who always dreams to travel around the world waits for his brother to get graduated and assign him a Job of handling the bank ownership to him. But Harry surprises George by marrying a girl already and getting by getting a Job. So, George sacrifices his dream. George then marries Mary, who loves George from her childhood. When they will be traveling for their honeymoon they will find that their bank is in great danger of getting collapse due to shortage of money to pay for its depositors. Potter, the meanest business man in the town offers "50 cents a dollar" for the share in bank. But George rejects the offer. Mary and George pays depositors the money they were about to use for their honeymoon until the money is restored from the people who has taken the loan. George and Mary settle down in an old house and they will have four kids.

Because of the George's effort people in the town would be building their own house instead of in a rented house of Potter. So, a cemetery will be turned in to a nice residential layout. So, Potter offers George a Job paying 20000 dollars a month traveling opportunities which George always dreamt of. But, George will reject the offer since he would lose the Bank for this offer.

Harry serves in army. When the war breaks out and save a warship, saves many American troops and kills many enemies. So, he will be awarded with the Medal of Honor and this will be front page news in the local news paper. Uncle Billy who will be serving as an accountant in Bailey's bank, accidentally gives Potter bank's money along with the news paper to Potter while showing the news about honoring Harry on a Christmas Eve. A bank verification officer visits the bank to check the bank records. Since Billy has lost the money, now George and Billy would be sent to jail for bank fraud and the fear of bankruptcy of his bank.

George then pleads Potter for help. But Potter rejects to offer him a loan. George then feels he is worth being dead more than alive since he has an insurance of 15000 dollars. George shows his frustration on his family and his family fells George is in some sort of trouble. George decides to commits suicide and his family prays god to save him from his trouble.

Watch the movie to know, how Clarance, second degree angel saves George from committing suicide and how could George come out of his trouble.

This movie tops the "AFI's 100 years 100 cheers" America's most inspiring movies list of 2006.

Movie Review : Schindler's List - English

Based on the true story of a German business man Oscar Schindler, Schindler's List is a masterpiece from Steven Spielberg.

Movie begins when German occupies Poland and Second World War. All the Jewish community people are asked to relocate to cities and get registered. Oscar Schindler will take this opportunity to build up a utensil factory. He will initially hire an accountant Itzhak Stern. With the help of his accountant, Schindler finds Jewish investors for his company since Jews were not allowed to own any business. He will then buy a bankrupt company to manufacture utensils. By socializing and bribing large number of SS officers and high level German officers, Schindler gets an order from German Army to his its goods. Soon execution of Jews starts, so all his workers will be put in concentration camps as forced labors. In a final attempt to rescue his workers Oscan Schindler bribes Amon Göth and many other SS officers to save his workers and takes them away from the concentration to open up a new factory manufacturing machine gun shells and artilleries. But this business does run as he expected and eventually me makes loss in this business. By the end of Second World War he would eventually save 1200 Jewish workers from execution by risking his own life and bribing money. Once the war gets over he will flee, leaving all his workers since he would be hunted for manufacturing Guns and artillery shells for Germany.

This movie stands at 9th position in AFI's 100 years 100 Movies in its 2007's list.

This is one of the movies which you don’t want to miss it.

Movie Review : Life is Beautiful - English

Life is Beautiful is plotted into two parts narrated by a character of the movie named Joshua. The first half of the movie is a romantic comedy. Guido (Roberto Benigni) who is a Jew by religion relocates to Rome to join in his uncle's hotel as a supplier wherein he falls in love with Dorra. Dorra is a teacher in a school and she is a non Jew will be getting engaged to a rich man who will be working as a civil servant. Guido steals Dorra from her engagement and settles together to have a kid Joshua. During this time Guido opens up a book store and his life seems to be very pleasant.
During the second half of the movie, Guido will be taken for concentration camp along with his son Joshua on Joshua's birthday. Dorra joins them too to accompany her family in the concentration camp. In the concentration camp, Guido tells lies to Joshua as what ever happening in the camp is a part of a game, guards will be giving the instructions about the game and the players has to follow the instructions of the game, whoever makes 1000 points first will win the game and will get a real tank as prize. And he also convinces Joshua that he will lose the point if he cries for food, asking for mother. Guido maintains the story until end and convinces Joshua that, they are going to win the price. Panic will start at the concentration camp when the American guard's attack concentration camp. Guido in his final attempt to save his family asks Joshua to hide in a box until everyone has left. While trying to rescue his wife, Guido will be caught by Nazi guards and will be killed.

Watch the movie to know, what will happen to Joshua at the concentration camp after the chaos at concentration camp when American solders attack.

All in all, Roberto Benigni does a marvelous job as a Director, Co-writter besides acting in a lead role. I can say "Life is Beautiful" is a marvelous peace of craft. And a must watch movie.

Although it is a painful movie to watch, I will assure that your heart will be filled with pleasure while your eyes with tears at the end of the movie. It’s a movie which you would be talking for years.

Movie Review : Prithvi - Kannada

Cast: Puneet Rajkumar, Parvathi Menon, Avinash, Ramesh Bhat, Srinivas Murthy

Starring Puneet Rajkumar and Parvathi Menon, Prithvi is a movie about a geek, who has cleared a civil service examination and gets posted in Bellary. Prithvi (Puneet Rajkumar) marries and Parvathi Menon and relocates to Bellary. Bellary, as known for its rich mining business will be under control of mining riches and are also politicians and will be exploiting the rich mining resource illegally. When Prithvi will be posted to Bellary, he will soon realize the bureaucracy behind the mining business. He will stand against politicians to fight against the illegal mining business to protect the countrymen from the hazards of illegal mining. As a result politicians will trouble Prithvi, in his personal and professional life. But committed to his principles Prithvi will fight against politicians to stop illegal mining.

The movie end doesn’t seem to be convincing. Director completely loses control of the script at the end of the movie. So, movie turns out be just a watchable movie rather than impressing the audience.

It is obvious that, this movie certainly was made to showcase the Bellary mining riches ‘Reddy brothers’ and there illegal business.

Puneet Rajkumar has performed to his mark. Parvathi Menon doesn’t disappoint either. Avinash's performance is good. Dialogs are very punching. Director loses control over the movie in the second half. Music isn’t up to expectation. Only thing which could catch your attention is in the entire movie is the photography. Overall it’s a good movie to watch. It’s a cinematized version of current mining issues Karnataka is dealing with.
